TNS Summer Series Round 2
July 12th, 2014
SCVRC Raceway
By Kyle Carpenter:
As Round two of the TNS Summer Series approached, it would be held at SCVRC. As I arrived Friday I was very excited to drive the track as it looked really smooth and fast. After multiple runs through my venom shorty packs my Team Associated B5m was hooked up and fast.
As Saturday was upon us there would be a low entry count of 88 entries so it would call for a early day. Round one of qualifying was up, which was 2wd Mod Buggy. I set a blistering fast TQ time, 14 seconds ahead of the whole field. Round 2 came and the track was not as fast as round one, so no one was able to beat my round one TQ.
As the mains came around the track looked very good and I knew I was gonna have a good race with Tamiya’s Jimmy Wright behind me. Me and Jimmy had a awesome race for about 4 minutes with me out front. As the race keep going I was hitting lap traffic and made a costly decision trying to pass a lapper. Jimmy would take over the lead and he was going fast without any mistakes, which lead him to winning the race.
All In all I had a good weekend with good friends and can’t wait for the next TNS Summer Series round at IERC. Can’t thank my sponsors enough for the help they give, Coyote Hobbies, Blais Racing Services, DA Designs, Venom and all the set up help from Jeff Guest.
