Norman Goes 2 for 2!

Who will Reign Supreme at Round 3?

THIS WEEKEND, join Dirt Inc and the NHHA for Round 3 of the AMA FMF/GPR National Hare & Hound Championship Series in Murphy, Idaho.  This is the fourth year of this event in Murphy and it is definitely one of the favorites amongst the racers, with its many trees and river crossings.  The 100-mile course will sure to be a fun and challenging one with a 42-mile first loop and a 63-mile second loop.  Loop 1 will have one alternate gas stop 25 miles in and Loop 2 will have two alternate gas stops (#1  31 miles in and #2  58 miles in.

(More info will be given at sign-ups)

Walking the bomb run start is encouraged by the club.  NO RIDING THE BOMB, only walking.  Do not walk past the posted Hard Stop Sign, otherwise you will be penalized 5 minutes.  For more information, please see the race flyer (attached).

Race sign-ups will take place at Dan Weibold Ford for big bikes on Saturday 3pm - 6pm and again on Sunday morning at the race site from 7am - 10am.

The new AMA National Youth National Series will take place this Saturday March 23rd at 11:00am.  The series has been a huge success so far with almost 50 young riders in attendance at Round 2.  Dirt Inc has a great course in store for the youngsters at Round 3.  We want to thank the AMA for recognizing our youth series, District 37 and Fasst Co for helping sponsor the series, and to GXE / Erek Kudla for bringing it to fruition.  The kids are the future - Let Them Race!
Sign-ups for the kid's event will take place Saturday morning from 8am - 10am.

This Saturday, come and "Meet the Pros" in Nampa, Idaho at the Dan Wiebold Ford Dealership any time between

2:00pm - 8:00pm.  Get autographed posters and take photos with your favorite off-road racers!   The Dan Wiebold Ford Dealership is located at the Idaho Center Auto Mall at 5707 East Gate Blvd in Nampa near the corner of I-84 and Garrity Blvd.

The 2010 NHHA Champ, Kendall Norman, has raced the first two rounds of the season and has gone 2 for 2 over the 2-time Champ of 2011 & 2012, FMF/KTM's Kurt Caselli.  This has changed things up a bit after the first two rounds with Norman leading the overall points over Caselli by 35 (Caselli DNF'd Round 1).  After many attempts to reach Norman, we are still unsure if he will be racing at this Round 3.

Currently sitting in 2nd Place Overall is JCR Honda racer, David Kamo.  Kamo, who was unsure if his race contract during the first two rounds, has finished an impressive 2nd Overall and 4th Overall putting him 17 points behind Norman going into Round 3.  With the Idaho round being his home turf, we will see what Kamo pulls out of his hat.

Purvines Racing rider, Nick Burson, has had a great season so far.  Burson, who is racing his new Beta bike this year, has finished the first two rounds in the 4th and 3rd Overall spots, putting him at 3rd Overall on the season so far and 4 points behind Kamo.  Burson and the whole Purvines team seem to have had no problems adjusting to their new bikes.

In the 4th Overall spot after two rounds so far is Off Road Support's, Jacob Argubright.  Argubright finished Round 1 on his Kawasaki in 3rd Overall and Round 2 in 5th Overall.  Argubright is currently only 3 points behind Burson.

Another Purvines racer, Utah's TJ Hannifin, is currently sitting in the 5th Overall spot, 4 points behind Argubright.  TJ is a fan favorite and has been racing mostly only the Utah races for the past several years.  This is the first year that Hannifin will be racing the entire NHHA series.  We want to wish him the best of luck!

Rounding out the Top 10:

6.  Justin Morrow (Beta)
7.  Kurt Caselli (KTM)
8.  Tuffy Pearson (TM) 1st Open A
9.  Robert Underwood (KTM)
10.  Nic Garvin (KTM) 1st 250A

The racers could not compete at the levels that they do without the support they all have behind them from family members, girlfriends, boyfriends, spouses, and friends.  Thank you all for supporting your riders and the NHHA series!

Leading the Women's A/B Class so far this year on her TM bike is Western Designs, Maggie Pearson!  Maggie is new to the series this year and is tearing it up.  With the last name of Pearson, it's pretty much a given that you're going to be good on a bike.  Best of luck to Maggie and the whole Western Designs Team.

Currently in 2nd Overall for the women is Off-Road Support/VurbOffroad's, Megan Blackburn.  This is Blackburn's first year in the A/B class and she's doing and excellent job.  Riding several times a week with boyfriend Jake Argubright, Megan has excelled with her riding so much in just the past year.

Another new racer to the series is Rily Ellinger.  Rily would race her first National race at Round 1 and would finish in the 1st Overall spot for the women.  We hope to see her at all the rounds this season!
